Victorian Christmas Tag – TLC 387

This is my revised edition of the tag.  In case you missed my first post, there is a photo at the end of this blog of the original.  And I know this means you got two emails… sorry!!

I have been wanting to try some new challenges and discovered this technique challenge at Splitcoaststampers website.  As far as I know this is just for fun and you can choose a listed technique challenge anytime and post your creation any time.  Great!  No deadlines!   Continue reading

Bragging Rights!

I just had to do it;  I had to brag a little and, actually, it is just a little thing to brag about.

The Shabby Tea Room Challenge has 4 top winners (NOT a random drawing on this one) and 10 Honorable Mentions.  I was one of the Honorable Mentions for the card shown here.  Best of all, one of my all time favorite designers, Andrea Ewen, was also an Honorable Mention.  To be on a list of creative talent with her is an even greater bit of excitement!!

Here is Andrea’s card (www.ewenstyle.com):

With talent like Andrea’s, you can see what I’m up against in the paper crafting world!

Blessings & Hugs, ya’ll!!

Cuddle Up With A Cuppa…MOJO251 and TSTR124

I usually combine these two challenges because they both have to be entered by Sunday evening.  I had planned to try adding another “Technique” challenge but it didn’t fit in with the Mojo Monday sketch.  Perhaps next time…

Theses were the images for the two challenges:   Continue reading

Heartfelt Thanks – PDCC#141 and Graphicat #13

Again, I am combining two challenges and using a favorite paper from K&Company from their Susan Winget collection.  This paper has been around for a long time and I have to admit that I hoard this particular design.

I also used papers from My Minds Eye (Lime Twist) and from The Paper Company.  I used Distress Ink (Worn Lipstick); Studio 18 bling; a Martha Stewart border punch and a very old Spellbinder’s Die that I got at a paper crafters garage sale!!  The stamp was a gift from Verve.  I used my Fiskars cutting tools, as well.   Continue reading

Cupcake Birthday!! – MOJO#250

Here we are at the deadline for Mojo Monday’s Challenge (mojomonday.blogspot.com) once again.  And I missed The Shabby Tea Room Challenge which provided the color scheme.  Last week’s plan to have my card ready early in the week was pushed aside by the finishing of my daughter’s birthday gift.  And all for naught…  she hasn’t been feeling well so we will be getting together next week for our family do.  The best laid plans…..

I got two little 6 inch x 6 inch paper pads at TJ-Maxx, of all places.  I had to call my sister in Greenville, SC to tell her to run over to her local store and see if they had any of these because they were very inexpensive.  I am usually more of a pastel kind of gal but these included a couple of my favorite brights: apple green and turquoise.   Continue reading

She May Be Over 40, But She’s STILL MY BABY ! !

My oldest daughter had a birthday this past week but the family isn’t getting together until this evening.  Thank goodness we are all going to meet at a restaurant for dinner in honor of the occasion!!  She seems to always be the one who pulls everything together for every birthday in the family and it just didn’t seem fair for her to have to do that for her own!!   Continue reading

Welcome to My Garden – PDCC #140 and Graphicat #12

Just a little peek into the paper garden!  The medallion on the card could almost be considered a miniature, my second crafting love!  I haven’t done The Play Date Cafe Challenge in quite a while (www.theplaydatecafe.blogspot.com) and this is my first Graphicat Challenge (graphicatsketches.blogspot.com).  I have been admiring their sketches posted on Graphicat for some time now and finally decided to try one.  This is what we were given to work from:   Continue reading

From Doug to Beth – MOJO#249 and TSTR#122

I decided to get back into the swing of things and relish the ambiance of my “new” craft room by doing some challenges.  Shortly after I finished one and stopped to make dinner, my DH explained that he needed to either go out and buy a card for his SIL or resort to an ECard.  He thought he’d send the ECard ’cause he didn’t really want to spend any $$.  I told him he could have my latest creation…  after all, he actually had paid for it in many ways!!   Continue reading

Just Making Things Clearer….

I noticed that my photo of the jar of hydrangea didn’t show the Glossy Accents very well so I decided to give you a little closeup of how this product makes the jar look like glass and, in this case, even looks like there is a little condensation on the jar.  If you click on this little photo, you will see it in larger detail as is always the case with any photos on my site.
