She May Be Over 40, But She’s STILL MY BABY ! !

My oldest daughter had a birthday this past week but the family isn’t getting together until this evening.  Thank goodness we are all going to meet at a restaurant for dinner in honor of the occasion!!  She seems to always be the one who pulls everything together for every birthday in the family and it just didn’t seem fair for her to have to do that for her own!!

A while back I did a birthday card for her in preparation for the day; it is the Winnie the Pooh card I posted.  I wanted to do something using the gorgeous Graphic 45 Little Darlings paper collection in addition to the cute little WtP goodies I had rounded up.  I managed to marry the two collections.  Most of the WtP stuff is inside the music box and is surrounding some pictures of her as a toddler which she probably wouldn’t want me to share here.

I got the music box at the thrift store and my DH spray painted it white for me.  I had considered doing a crackle finish or something like that but I really love a crisp white background.  And her daughter had told me that her bedroom colors in the new house are beige, cream and blue.  I happen to know there is a lot of white wood in that room so those are the colors I went with on the outside.  The inside lid is an array of different flowers and photos that add other pastels to the mix.

As I mentioned, I used the Little Darlings 12 inch x 12 inch paper collection and the matching Cardstock Cutouts; Recollections Photo Corners; flowers from Recollections, Jolee, I Am Roses and Wild Orchid Crafts; dies from Memory Box, Sizzix and Spellbinders, Recollections and Prima bling; Distress Ink and a gold edging pen; lace from Hobby Lobby and a gift from Sabrina of; the bow was made from rayon seam binding and the handles were painted with metalic blue craft paint.  I believe DH spray painted the box with Krylon glossy white.

Leave me a little love in the form of a comment; ya’ll know I thrive on it!  Blessings & Hugs.
