While at a recent Stamp and Paper Crafting Show, I found the loveliest pad of papers at a give-away price. I’m always on the lookout for pretty pastels and here was an entire 48 sheet Prima Collection called Pixie Glen for $5! I love it and I’ve used it for this card.
Only after I mentioned to my hubby that it was an odd size did I realize that it is European size paper which is about 8 1/4 inches by 11 5/8 inches instead of our usual 8 1/2 inches by 11 inches. Perhaps that explains the super low price. Whatever the reason may be, I felt like I had found the mother lode!
I used this paper, plus paper from a Martha Stewart pad that had no name on it but appeared to be a Valentine collection (a Christmas gift from my daughter and granddaughter, purchased at Marshall’s), as well as a piece of brown card stock from my stash. Inks were Distress Spun Sugar and Vintage Photo plus Momento Rhubarb Stalk. I used my Spellbinder’s Fancy Tags Die, Recollections flower and bling. The sentiment was part of a hand-me-down set from my sister, Mary, who kept the bits she liked and sent me the ones I had expressed an interest in some time ago. I have no idea what brand they are but I love the parts she sent to me… all very French!
My sister, Megan, was thrilled to have gotten some comments on my blog! Now she knows why I get so excited when I get comments… hint, hint hint. Blessings & Hugs!
Charlotte, it is lovely. I also saw your sisters card and thought that clearly sometimes sisters share similar talents. Shame on me for not commenting at the time. My sister’s birthday celebration is next week and they will be here soon. I know she will love the box you made for her, but I will miss it. Thanks, and Happy Valentine’s Day.
How wonderful must be a gift that you love and give to another. I can’t wait to hear how she reacts to it!
Your ‘hint, hint, hint’…was so adorable…..as is this card. Feminine should be your middle name. Your cards not only reflect it, but also Victorian class and elegance…..Love them and you.
What a sweetie you are! Hope you have a nice Valentine’s Day. I was in bed reading a little after midnight and Doug came in and said “Happy Valentine’s Day!” I said it wasn’t Valentine’s Day (not realizing the time) but her insisted and I finally got it. I offered to make him a card for his Valentine for $8 but he just laughed at me and went back to his computer… the real love of his life. Perhaps I should make a card today for him… a Valentine Card for a Computer. People do them for dogs and cats… why not? He will undoubtedly come home with roses tonight so I guess I’ll fix steak and a cute but low-cal dessert AND a card! Strange how my days plan themselves whether I like it or not… All the best to you and Dick.
