My very sweet friend, Millie, lost her son to a long-term illness a few weeks ago. This was the card I made for her to express my sympathy for her loss.
We became friends when Millie, her daughter and son-in-law started coming to our Mah Jongg group at our local senior center some years ago. She is a bit famous there and in our county senior network because she will be celebrating her 102nd. birthday in a couple of months. She is cute as a button, dresses like a fashion diva and is always smiling and warm. You can’t let that fool you, though, because she will beat the pants off of you at Mah Jongg!!
I have decided that Millie’s longevity and sparkle is due to the fact that she makes her own wine at home and has a small glass every evening. She says that the key to a good life is never holding a grudge. I think I hang on to the wine idea because the other would be so much harder for me to do!
Miss Millie is an elegant woman and I wanted to make a card for her that reflected that. I hope I have achieved that goal. She tells me she frames my cards and hangs them so I have to be on my toes when I make a card for this dear lady! Blessings and hugs, Millie…
Beautiful, thoughtful card. Millie seems like my kinda girl!
You would love her. Sometimes she has the most wonderful stories to tell. It is a real privilege to be her friend.
There is nothing on the Hallmark shelves to compare with the simplistic, heavenly beauty of this new creation! Nothing.
Thank you, Dana darlin’!
I had to write today’s date several times today, which is unusual for me, and each time remembered that it was your special day and sent some good vibes in your direction. Hope you are having a wonderful birthday!
