Flowers in a Canning Jar – VLVJun2012 – Week 4

How many times did my mother or I grab a canning jar to fill with beautiful blooms from our yard?  No one ever noticed the utilitarian jar under the weight of the gorgeous blossoms, the fruit of our labors in the garden.  This card is reminiscent of those days.

One of the interesting things about this card is the paper I used.  Other than my Core-dinations pastels, the patterned paper is by Paula Deen! (I wonder if it’s fattening??) They had these mini-packs of several different designs in the dollar bins at Michael’s.  Both my sister and I had to get one of each… Continue reading

The Heart’s The Thing… RCC58 – PDCC 137

I have had the most beautiful die for months and never managed to use it.  Today just had to be the day for the die cut to go on a card.  I love really intricate and finely detailed dies but they can be a problem where glue is concerned so, sometimes, I just opt for something not quite so labor intensive Continue reading

Willy-Nilly, Silly Old Bear – VLVJun2012Verve

My oldest daughter, now a grandmother, has always been a Winnie the Pooh fan.  When she was little, there were no videos of Disney movies.  She and her sister had a record player and a book with the Disney version of the story along with a record that told the story and played all the songs from the movie.  It played constantly and they both loved it!  Caitlynn went on to collect dolls and Bronwynn went on to collect Winnie the Pooh goodies.

I made this card for the Verve Challenge this week. Continue reading

Artful Doggie

I guess I’m going to go with something different today.  My brother and his wife, Joe and Denise, have one child, their dog.  They have requested “baby” pictures of my puppy and I was considering emailing them some when I realized I had a fellow artist in my craft room; my puppy, Sara Lee. (‘Cause nobody doesn’t like Sara Lee!) Continue reading

Congratulations! In the General Stamping forum, you’re in the FAVORITES for the week ending June 17, 2012. See post #_15___. Beautiful card!!!——————————
Linda

Splitcoast Stampers is huge and is the contact point for many challenges and galleries.  I did a card for a challenge that had to be loaded in my personal gallery there and linked to the challenge in order to enter.  You’ve seen this card but as a memory jogger I have included a small photo of it here.  I had to share the joy!!

Enjoy a great Father’s Day!

Dad’s Day … VLVJun2012Verve

I had a little catching up to do on my Viva La Verve Challenge.  With this card, I am up to date and ready for a new sketch.  I have gotten lots of very nice feedback in the form of comments from folks who peruse the galleries at Splitcoast Stampers where we have to link our work from our own gallery to Viva La Verve’s gallery.  Gives a girl a warm fuzzy feeling!  There is so much to see there; other’s work, tutorials, swaps, special offers from suppliers…

Summer Sun and Sky… VLVJun2012

There is a particular Viva La Verve Challenge that I have never done before and keep reading about at Andrea Ewen’s site http://www.ewenstyle.com.  I admire Andrea’s beautiful creations and her friendly nature.  She has alway answered any questions I had promptly and with obvious good humor.  She has peaked my interest in this challenge so I decided to try it. Caitlynn Star … MOJO 244

The Mojo Monday challenge has been very much neglected by me of late and, just as I made up my mind that I’d do it and get it in at the correct time, a reminder popped up for my daughter’s birthday this coming Wednesday.  Even more motivation for a special card!!

Caitlynn is the mother of my grandson, Sterling, who is in the Navy, and my granddaughter, Charlotte Jade, age 6.  I have a photo of Cait when she was a senior in high school that looks almost identical to the little figurine next to her card and the lovely lady in the card itself. A New Grandson!

I made this card with the new Graphic 45 Little Darlings Collection (both background papers and fussy cut pieces); Spellbinder’s Dies; Recollections flowers (plus one from my stash of floral picks); Martha Stewart leaf punch, Stickles and Distress Inks.

Remember, if you click on a photo, you will get a larger sized image so you can see all the pretty little things on this card.

This is a peek at the inside edge.  I didn’t do a photo that showed the whole inside because I had already written a note to my friend.  I just love that image of the little boy with a horn and his PJ’s… he’s so cute!!
