Summer Sun and Sky… VLVJun2012

There is a particular Viva La Verve Challenge that I have never done before and keep reading about at Andrea Ewen’s site  I admire Andrea’s beautiful creations and her friendly nature.  She has alway answered any questions I had promptly and with obvious good humor.  She has peaked my interest in this challenge so I decided to try it.

This challenge requires that you tackle four new design sketches over the course of a month and, at the end of the month, there is a $100 gift certificate for Viva La Verve Stamps for the randomly picked winner!  I like their stamps and would love to win!

I do have a lot on my plate right now.  Several promised projects that I just haven’t gotten my creative muse to help me with as yet.  I am getting closer as I immerse myself in more and more challenges.  They have time limits and either sketch or color demands.  That forces me to dig in and the more I do that, the more I feel the inspiration coming for other projects.  That is part of what is so wonderful about the paper crafting community on line and on YouTube.

I bought the paper for this card some time ago because of the lovely, small florals so I am using my wonderful Prima Botonical paper once again.  I used Ranger Distress Inks in Pumice, Broken China, Faded Jeans, Antique Linen, Scattered Straw and Vintage Photo; a Martha Stewart butterfly punch and Spellbinder’s Scalloped Circles dies.  The stamp is from Just Rite Stamps and the ribbon and pearls are from my stash.  The pattern on the background fabric was a little lacking in the bottom left corner so I fussy cut the same flowers from the top of another piece of paper and filled in that corner to give it more balance.  And then, it appears I cannot do without dimensional flowers or butterflies!

I hope you like my entry and I look forward to having your comments.  They warm my heart!

About Charlotte Zweigoron

Married, retired, never been so busy..! One of my most prized possessions is my very own craft room! And, actually, all the rest of our home is built around that craft room. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. I have been living in Georgia for over thirty-five years after a four year stint in Chicago. Crafting, reading and playing Mah Jongg with our circle of friends are my favorite activities right after spending time with my four grandchildren and four great-grandsons. Two of my three grown daughters and one of my two grandgirls live right across the yard from my husband and I. The youngest daughter, her husband, and our grandpups live in our same town. I have been teaching a paper crafting class for over three years and the ladies in the group have become a second family. We are well and truly blessed with people and critters to love..!

Oh I love the color scheme. You just get better and better. Hope you win!

    • It’s a random drawing that I will qualify for once I complete the four projects, so talent won’t help but a couple of good wishes in my general direction might. I know I can count on you for that!

  4. Dana Braun says:

Congratulations on another beautiful creation with an important message!
