My very favorite designer, Becca Feeken (www.amazingpapergrace.com), did a card the other day and I immediately recognized the paper she had used. It is one that my sister and I love and I grab a couple of pieces whenever Hobby Lobby has it on sale. Neither Michael’s nor Joann’s carry it. Thank goodness for Hobby Lobby!
As always, her card was breathtaking. Knowing I had the paper and tools necessary, I wanted to CASE it (One meaning for CASE is Copy And Share Everything; the other is Copy And Selectively Edit which makes more sense to me but I can’t find a confirmation on one or the other.) If anyone knows for sure, please let me know!
The part I definitely get is the “Copy” part and I definitely know that one must be courteous and give credit where credit is due. Here is Becca’s card:
I didn’t have that stamp nor did I have any organza ribbon and I was in a rush to make a birthday card for my grandson’s wife. So I did it my way with what I did have. I even did the tiny sliver of red background around the flower portion and around the pink and white gingham which is the other side of this 2-sided paper by My Mind’s Eye.
It’s a very basic card, actually. I have a different lacy die that I used with white paper just as Becca did. I used a triple-pearl pin and little pearls on the card along with my own thing which is some glittery Ranger Stickles. And I did have some sheer pink ribbon and one little rosebud rather than the three very tiny ones on the original card. I put my “Happy Birthday” sentiment on the decorated inside of the card. Too bad I didn’t think to take a photo of the inside before I sent it off!
It doesn’t have that “Becca” feel to it but I am working in that direction bit by bit, day by day… except the days where I get in a Steam Punk mood! With the two cards on the same page, I can see that Becca puts greater space between her layers which, in part, gives it her “wow” look. I will have to be more aware of that because I really like it. I hope Anie will like my rendition!
I love to hear from you… Blessings and Hugs to all.
