After a week of having my sister, Megan, as a house guest and fellow craft enthusiast, I am ready to get some blogging done! I did have to put it off for a good bit of the weekend because there was a Stamp and Paper Craft Show in my area. What a ball my sister and I had!!
So many wonderful products and techniques being demonstrated!! So many of my favorite dealers right where I could get their products without having to pay shipping!! And, wonder of wonder, several of the designers I admire to meet and greet personally!! I guess I am a paper craft designer groupie of sorts… next year I am taking an autograph book!!
My card today is for entry into Mojo Monday’s challenge (mojomonday.blogspot.com). I used the colors from the Shabby Tea Room to make this softly feminine card. The Mojo Monday format and Shabby Tea Room colors are below:
I saw a lot of the white in that photo as a soft teal, the walls as beige and the floor as a pinkish beige. There was no doubt about the red scattered about. I was quite excited to be able to use the My Mind’s Eye paper because I simply love the barest hint of baby teal in amongst the roses. This is definitely one of the papers I hoard and have to buy sheet or two whenever I see it on sale. I tried a new idea, for me, of using a few drops of Ranger’s Glossy Accents on the rose to look like dew drops.
Paper: My Mind’s Eye Lost & Found Two, NRN Designs, Prima Madeline. Ink: Ranger Distress Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Tumbled China, Tea Dye. Tools: Spellbinder’s Labels 3 and Fleur De Lis Squares. Others: Recollections rose and skeleton leaves, I Am Roses tiny rosebuds, Paper Studio pearls, Hobby Lobby ribbon and lace, Ranger Glossy Accents, and a stamp from my stash.
Oh, and we have wonderful news to share… We have been invited to make paper crafts to be sold in the gift shop at Georgia Tech’s Paper Museum! One of our sweetest and friendliest customers from the Holiday Bazaar lives next door to the curator and showed her all the lovelies she bought from us. My sister happened to be here when I got the email and we were so excited! As luck would have it, we then ran into our new favorite customer, Deborah, at the show yesterday. Megan and I are beginning to feel that it really is a small world after all and we must be in Fantasy Land!
Between my sister and I, there are so many lovely creations to show you every day for at least a week! Keep your eyes on your email. I will be visiting on a regular basis and hoping to hear from you. I love your comments and appreciate the time you take to let me know you are out there. Blessings and Hugs!
