Photo Holder Ornament

I was so surprised when my camera caught that little sparkle off the edge of the wooden snow flake in the middle of my ornament!  In actual fact, the entire snow flake is covered with something called Diamond Dust that creates an intense but clear sparkle. It is a shame that the camera can’t catch the full effect.  The rest is specially folded red cardstock that has been gilded with silver foil on the curved edges.  The snow flake is backed by green paper and there is a very small silver snow flake forming the center of the larger white one.

Here is a view of the back.  There is an opening between the two layers of lacy white paper (one is a paper doily and the other a white paper die cut) to slide in a photo.

This photo could be a little brighter but the sunlight is very shifty at this time of year. My DH went to Home Depot on Saturday to get what he needed to make a light box, at last! Then, when he got home with the receipt in hand, he looked at it and said this is crazy… I can get one on-line for almost the same price and won’t have to do any work. (He was going to make it out of PVC pipe and clip on shop lights.)

We went on-line and, sure enough, there was a whole portable set-up in a carrying case, perfect size, different color backdrops AND table-top tripod, AND free shipping for about $10 or $15 more than he had paid for all the stuff to make a homemade one (sans tripod and backdrops). Need I say that the new light box has been ordered and Home Depot has their stuff back? I can hardly wait!  And he paid for it out of his money, too.

This is just a week after he searched out a retired Martha Stewart border punch that I had requested for Christmas because it was so expensive on Ebay (Since it is retired, the price goes up from what the current ones are selling for in the stores.)  Without saying anything to me, he found one for half the price of the ones on Ebay from a local seller, bought it, brought it home and gave it to me because he couldn’t wait for Christmas and the lady had wrapped it all up in fancy fall wrappings.

I would really like to know who this guy is and what he has done with my husband…

About Charlotte Zweigoron

Married, retired, never been so busy..! One of my most prized possessions is my very own craft room! And, actually, all the rest of our home is built around that craft room. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. I have been living in Georgia for over thirty-five years after a four year stint in Chicago. Crafting, reading and playing Mah Jongg with our circle of friends are my favorite activities right after spending time with my four grandchildren and four great-grandsons. Two of my three grown daughters and one of my two grandgirls live right across the yard from my husband and I. The youngest daughter, her husband, and our grandpups live in our same town. I have been teaching a paper crafting class for over three years and the ladies in the group have become a second family. We are well and truly blessed with people and critters to love..!
