Gingerbread House Album

Candy Land, here we come!  Only this one has no calories…  just adorable spots for photos of the family at Christmas, or as a sweet gift for someone else. This album is approximately 4 1/2 inches from roof tip to roof tip and 6 inches high.  It is constructed of chipboard (or heavy cardboard to the non-paper crafters out there) and then overlaid with an assortment of crafting papers and embellishments.  Here are views of the pages within:

Golden Christmas

Here is my first actual Christmas card of the season.  Lots of other Christmas stuff but no cards until  now.  I love the rich, wine-red of this paper and the addition of other blue and green tones. Continue reading

A Sterling Birthday

My dear grandson, Sterling, is going into the Navy in December.  November 9th was his 23rd birthday and this is the card I made for him and stuffed with a little cash.  He was always a good boy and now…  he is a good man.

When he was in high school, he and his mother (my daughter) lived with us and almost every Friday and Saturday night all his buddies would congregate in his room with their computer paraphernalia and play computer games ’til the wee hours of the morning.   Continue reading

Photo Holder Ornament

I was so surprised when my camera caught that little sparkle off the edge of the wooden snow flake in the middle of my ornament!  In actual fact, the entire snow flake is covered with something called Diamond Dust that creates an intense but clear sparkle. It is a shame that the camera can’t catch the full effect.  The rest is specially folded red cardstock that has been gilded with silver foil on the curved edges.  The snow flake is backed by green paper and there is a very small silver snow flake forming the center of the larger white one.   Continue reading

More Paper Crafting by Megan

My youngest sister visited with me a few weeks ago and left me her crop of paper Victorian Shoes to embellish beyond what she had in her beginner’s bag of goodies. I should have photographed the shoes before I added anything from my stash of goodies but I didn’t think of that ’til just now.  A little “before and after” view might have been fun!   Continue reading

Tiny Shoe Ornament by Megan Fahey

While my sister was visiting with me, she worked tirelessly on this tiny version of the Victorian Shoe hoping it would be appropriate as a Christmas Tree ornament.  I think her instincts were right!

I love this little shoe but I’m not sure you’d ever find me making one this size.  The Victorian shoe is difficult enough to make without adding the stress of making it in such a small size. And I am the one in the family who works with miniatures!   Continue reading

Fall Friends and Flowers – PDCC104

The Play Date Cafe (www.theplaydatecafe.blogspot.com) had a wonderful but challenging color combo this week and I was in the mood for something bright. So I pounced on the yellow and minimized the fuscia to come up with this card.   If you haven’t noticed, sparkle is definitely my thing.  Here is the color theme we were working with:   Continue reading

Pyramid Christmas Box

The title says it all!!  Well, not really…  This could be hung as an ornament and it opens to be used as a little gift box.  One could put the gift box on the tree and then give it to the recipient.  A lovely gift and an ornament in one!!  Should I mention the Holiday Bazaar again or are you getting the drift about seeing all of this Christmas stuff?   Continue reading

Victorian Tags

These gift tags are made from digital images copied onto high-resolution paper and mounted on cardstock, then hand-trimmed and ribbon added for tying to a special gift.

This particular set of images is one of the prettiest I have ever seen and so reminiscent of an old-fashioned Christmas. I am absolutely in love with them and will be trying to use these images in a card at my first opportunity.  I would even hang them on my tree…   Continue reading

Christmas Cupcake Toppers

Everyone else is getting ready for Halloween and Thanksgiving but I have to get ready for Christmas.  Sorry, I’m going to have to throw a few of the little things I am making for the Holiday Bazaar into the mix as that is what is occupying most of my time these days.   Continue reading
