The Black Box

This is a commissioned piece that is going out to in the mail on Monday to a friend of, let me see now, fifty-three years?  Of course, this is due to the fact that we knew each other in a past life because neither of us is, at the present moment, over 30.  Right, Pat?

Anyway, it is an adaptation of the dear old “Chewing Through the Leather Straps” card.  It has been decoupaged, scratched, had feet added, lined with felt and, generally, just blinged to within an inch of its grunge style.  She asked me for a price, I gave her one and she sent me more (this has been happening to me lately)…  Ah, friendship…   Sometimes I guess business and friendship mix just fine.  Knock, knock on the wooden box!!  Here are a couple of close-ups:

It was lovely to have a sunny morning to get some photos.  If I had waited ’til the sun was higher, I might have had fewer shadows to deal with but, lately, a sunny day can turn into a thunderstorm in the blink of a camera shutter.  Not taking any chances, even if it means not getting breakfast until some unseemly hour of the morning!

I hope you enjoy seeing this.  It will be going off with the beautiful “Music is Love” card and a special envelope in the a.m.  Who knows what else might wind up in that package?

Please leave me a comment.  I do appreciate it so and thank you in advance.  Much love and blessings to you and yours.

About Charlotte Zweigoron

Married, retired, never been so busy..! One of my most prized possessions is my very own craft room! And, actually, all the rest of our home is built around that craft room. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. I have been living in Georgia for over thirty-five years after a four year stint in Chicago. Crafting, reading and playing Mah Jongg with our circle of friends are my favorite activities right after spending time with my four grandchildren and four great-grandsons. Two of my three grown daughters and one of my two grandgirls live right across the yard from my husband and I. The youngest daughter, her husband, and our grandpups live in our same town. I have been teaching a paper crafting class for over three years and the ladies in the group have become a second family. We are well and truly blessed with people and critters to love..!

As a husband here, one might consider me biased. I’M the one with the art degree. I’M supposed to be the creative genius in this house……but this box made me say WOW!!! The photo does not even begin to do justice to how cool this is.

I’m going to love it. Can’t wait………but actually, Charlotte, I’m only 16 at heart, it’s only the body that’s in trouble.
